Neglect and confusion

Sat Sep 26, 2009, 9:26 AM
So I have been neglecting my DA account for a while… I just finished uploading the Wonderland series. Now I’m wondering if I should go back and re-retouch the photos. The photos are 2 years old and I had purchased Photoshop specifically for that project. I didn’t know anything really about color correction or enhancing skin tones. I look at the photos now and I am not happy with the final result. At the time I was ecstatic, but since I have improved in my skills (always a good thing), I don’t feel the same. I’m not sure what to do with that…

On a different note, we went to the Grand Canyon and I took a bunch of pictures. A lot of them are with the intent of merging them into a huge panorama. We’ll see how that works. Hopefully I will get them posted soon.

I did a photo shoot of a couple that I work with. I am waiting… patiently… for them to decide which photos they would like to have edited… still waiting… if they don’t decide soon, I’ll be all packed up and moving to Florida and I won’t be able to retouch them for a least a month probably longer.

People confuse me sometimes. This couple isn’t the first. I’ve had several models who I shot at group events never respond to my requests to pick out which photos they would like to have. What does that say? Now granted, it is a group event, so they are getting similar photos from other photographers as well. So does that mean they don’t like my photos? Is there nothing special about them? Nothing unique? Or do they just not care about those type of events and it’s more about networking and trying to get paid work.

A funny note on that, one model I photographed at a group event never responded to my requests for an address to mail her photos to. A year later, out of the blue she sends me an email saying she never got her photos. I still had them (as I am terrible about deleting my photos, even the unused ones.) and again asked for an address. This time she gave me an address. Now this REALLY makes me wonder. Why would you want year old photos? Why did you wait so long to requests those photos? Shrugs. Who knows.
